I'm just a cool cat who knows what he wants, especially if its yogurt.

    Chihuly Garden and Glass

    May 10, 2017

While passing through Seattle, on our return from Glacier Bay, Alaska, Les Flâneurs got to visit the Chihuly installation near the Space Needle.

His installation there is glorious, given the setting and the glass house they built to exhibit his works.

     This is a site no...

Orcas at Eleven O'Clock off the Port Bow

    May 6, 2017

No, we don't mean 11 AM.  This sighting actually occurred at around 4 PM.  We are using the on-board terminology that relies upon the hours of the clock to indicate direction.  While you can't actually plan to see Orcas, Les Flâneurs were lucky enough to have...

    Persevering on The Perseverance Trail

    April 29, 2017

The Perseverance Trail, a fitting name if there ever was one, was the first road in Alaska.  The fittingness derives from the perseverance of the miners who fought cold winters and dug more than 120 miles of tunnels in the hardrock gold mines up and down the length of...

There are no "Bad Seats" at Radio City

    April 20, 2017

Les Flâneurs spotted an event at The TriBeCa Film Festival at Radio City for the premiere of "Clive Davis:  The Soundtrack of Our Lives". It was both a film and a concert with performances by many of Clive's artists. Clive discovered and signed many of our faves from J...

Catching a Few Freshies in Crested Butte, CO

    April 14, 2017

Les Flâneurs first saw Crested Butte during the summer, as part of a visit to Aspen.  Reportedly, the two towns are just a 45 minute off-road drive apart, however, the paved route is closer to 4 hours.  We were so delighted by this visit, that we placed CB on the list...

Visit to a Distant Galaxy in Denver!

    April 5, 2017

Many of Les Flâneurs' most treasured experiences are the result of pure serendipity.  There was that great Rolling Stones concert in Paris back in 1982 and more recently, why not long long ago at all, a chance to see the "Star Wars™ and the Power of Costume Exhibit" at...

    Brewery Roadtrip!

    April 1, 2017

No trip to Boulder could possibly be complete without a visit to several of the area's craft breweries.  While we haven't actually done the math, our guts tell us that the region surrounding Boulder must have the highest average Beer Advocate rating of any county!  Not...

    Live

Le Flâneur think of the verb "to live" in two contexts. Perhaps the more standard definition, includes locations where we can most often be found, such as homes which are owned or rented for more than a month at a time.  We have such an address in New York City and are actively seeking another in a different US city.  Our less standard definition surrounds a goal to "live" in other favorite cities of the world.  This alternative would be based on weekly or monthly rentals in a city with which we are already familiar.  It could also involve strategies undertaken with fellow Flâneurs who would agree to share and swap intermediate term rentals.  As distinct from "Travel," the point here is to select a neighborhood and live in it, as a local resident would.  We see this form of "living" as a sort of higher order adventure.
