Boulder, CO - Seeking Permanent Residence
April 1, 2017
Les Flâneurs visited Boulder, Colorado as a possible location for our encore phase residence (we have many such destinations in mind to explore as we move into this phase). Our grown children live in Los Angeles and Chicago so somewhere right in between seems appropriate.
We flew into Denver, had a minor misadventure with one off-brand car rental company, switched to an alternate off-brand car rental and set out on the highway, sharing thoughts about being High Plains Drifters, just like Clint Eastwood. We found our way to the Boulderado Hotel, a 1909 beauty which had been recommended by our friend Howard. Our story of the Living alternatives we explored may be found here.
Our work done, for the day, we set out in search of lunch on Pearl Street, which is the backbone of the town's lively downtown scene. Stories of our Eating may be found here. Our travel adventure included visits to St. Julien, another luxury hotel near Pearl Street, and the roof top bar at Rio Grande Mexican.
